It is with great sadness we, the family announce the passing of Frances Anne Fraser on Christmas Day 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born in Reserve Mines, Frances was the daughter of the late Eck Murphy and Betty MacNeil.

Frances was a longtime member of St. Agnes’s parish, New Waterford. Even though Frances was ill for the last 12 years, she enjoyed long drives and the company of her special pets, Koda and Kyra. She will always be remembered by family and friends for her caring and loving ways especially, towards animals.

Frances leaves behind her loving husband, Jim ‘Quill’ and daughter, Jennifer (Darren MacLeod) Fraser. She is also survived by mother-in-law, Florence Fraser; sisters, Donna (Peck) Gouthro and Jane (Billy) Musgrave; brother, Bill; sisters-in-law, Mary J., Betty, Diane, Donna and Mary and brothers-in-law, Michael, Greg and Blair.

Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by her son, Donnie; stepbrother, Junior MacNeil; brothers-in-law, Blair, Harry and Pat and sister-in-law, Rose Marie.

Funeral mass to celebrate the life of Frances Anne Fraser will be held Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Leonard Church, Mt. Carmel Ave., New Waterford, with Fr. Raymond G. Huntley officiating. A reception will take place at St. Leonard Parish Hall, Convent Street, following the funeral mass. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Donations in memory of Frances may be made to Hospice Palliative Care Society, VON Canada or Cancer Care Patient Fund.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
