45, Sydney

It is with heavy hearts and sadness we announce the sudden passing of Thomas ‘Tommy’ A. Corbett on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a long and courageous battle with heart disease.

Born in Sydney, Tommy was the son of Tom and Ronelda (MacPherson) Corbett.
Through the years Tommy was an inspiration to all who knew and loved him. His illness, since childhood, never interfered with his way of life. Everyday was a bonus for Tommy and he lived each day to the fullest.

Besides his parents, Tommy leaves his loving sister and brother, Karen (John) Eisan and Troy (Lesley) Corbett. Tommy will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, Ambyr (TJ) and Kaitlyn (Tim) Eisan, Brittany and Breanna Lynk, John (Crystal) Eisan and Thomas and Troy Corbett; as well as his fiancé and soul mate, Norma Morrison.

Tommy was predeceased by grandparents, John and Theresa MacPherson and Pius and Alma Corbett, and an aunt, Pat Hawco.

In honoring Tommy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation for the late Thomas ‘Tommy’ A. Corbett will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd., Whitney Pier, on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, from 12-2 p.m. Funeral mass to celebrate the life of Thomas ‘Tommy’ A. Corbett will be held on the same day, Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Church, Whitney Pier, with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. A private Interment will take place at a later date.
