Peacefully, Donna Marie, only daughter of the late Daniel and Isabelle ‘Mable’ Usher, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 6, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by love of family and friends.

Left to mourn Donna’s passing are her two brothers, Terry (Irene) and Garfield; as well as loving godmother, Cecila Fraser and adoring god-daughter, Rochelle. Donna is also survived by several aunts and uncles and many cousins. She will be missed by many friends and relatives.

There will be no visitation. In keeping with Donna’s wishes cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Donna Marie Usher will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Church with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. A reception will follow Mass at Pier Community Funeral Home, Church Street and Victoria Road.
They do not make medals for the courage Donna displayed in facing life’s struggles on a daily basis. Her courage and stamina is our legacy from her. Rest peacefully and safely in the arms of God.

A heartfelt thanks to all staff of Cape Breton Regional Hospital and a special thank you to Lillian and the Girls.

Flowers gratefully declined. For donations in memory of Donna to SPCA or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
