It is with sad hearts we, the family announce the peaceful passing of Carmon Edgar Jordon on Friday, May 18, 2012, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, Inverness.
Born May 28, 1930 in Margaree Centre, Carmon was the son of the late Gladys MacDonald and Byron Jordon.
Carmon, as a young man helped look after his grandfather Francis MacDonald who he dearly loved. Carmon worked for Etheridge and Carmichael Pulp Company until he became owner and operator of Carmon Jordon and Son Pulp Company Ltd for many years before retiring. Carmon was a member of the truckers association and his greatest joys in life were his family, friends and pets.
Carmon is survived by his loving and devoted wife of almost 60 years, Betty (Phillips) Jordon; children, Keith (Connie) Jordon, River Denys; Debbie (Glenn) MacKay, Whycocomagh, and his seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Melissa (Logan), Ashley, Connor, Callum, Kirsten Belle and Keir.
Besides his parents, Carmon was predeceased by his brother, Albert.
Visitation for the late Carmon Edgar Jordon will be held Monday, May 21, 2012 from 2-9 p.m. in Wilson United Church Hall, Margaree Centre. Funeral service to celebrate the life of Carmon Edgar Jordon will be held on Tuesday, May 22 at 2 p.m. in Wilson United Church with Norma Mills, DLM officiating. Burial will take place in the Congregational Cemetery, Margaree Centre.
Family flowers only, donations in memory of Carmon may be made to the Wilson United Church Building Fund or Central Inverness Palliative Care Society.
At this time the family gives special thanks to the staff at the ICMH and to the Home support “women” for the excellent care given to Carmon during his time of need.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
