62, Middle River, Cape Breton

A life long journey started 41 years ago by Barbara J. MacDonald, Big Harbour and Winston C. Nicholson, Middle River, CB in Toronto ended suddenly when Barbara passed away on April 11, 2012.

Barb was walking in her favorite place, "The Meadow", listening to the river, birds singing and looking in the trees and grass for birds nests and little animals when she was called upon by the Lord to end her earthly journey and continue on alone through the valley of the shadow of death, a journey we all must make alone.

We know Barb is now at rest with thee in one of the any mansions promised us.

Barb graduated in 1971 as key punch operator on the honour roll for Adult Vocational Training. She was also a member and Elder of Farquharson Presbyterian Church and a 23 year employee of Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck.

Barb was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Annie (Andrews) MacDonald; sisters, Donna, Janet, June and Franklin. Also parent-in-law, Mary and Duncan Nicholson; brothers-in-law, Billy, Roy and Lloyd Nicholson and special all time person, Uncle-in-law, Chris Nicholson.

Barb is survived husband, Winston; son, Christopher Nichole, grandson, Jacob "Grammie’s Sunshine Boy"; granddaughter, Eve "Grammie’s Special Angel". She is also survived by sisters, Susan Murdena; brother, Calvin ‘Bimbo’ (Fanny); brothers-in-law, Charlie (Debra) and their family; Curtis (Elsa) and their family.

Funeral service to celebrate the life of Barbara ‘Barb’ Nicholson will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Farquharson Presbyterian Church with Rev. Louis Ihasz officiating. Burial will take place in Middle River Cemetery, Middle River.
