It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family announce the passing of Wendell Blair MacDonald on Aug. 10, 2011 at Victoria General Hospital, Halifax.
Born in Glace Bay, N.S., Wendell was the son of the late Norman and Hazel (Bond) MacDonald.
Wendell was a family man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a member of the Lion’s Club.
Wendell will be remembered by his family and friends for being very sociable and enjoying good conversations especially, at the garages in Baddeck.
Wendell is survived by his wife, Shirley MacDonald, of 53 years; daughter, Meredith (Brian), Halifax; son, Dale (Angela) MacDonald, Fox Creek, Alta. Through Wendell’s eyes the sun set on his grandchildren, Bronson and Reese Currie. He is also survived by a brother, Ewen MacDonald, U.S.A.
Besides his parents, Wendell was predeceased by his daughter, Wendy; one brother and two sisters.
By Wendell’s request, a private family memorial will be celebrated at a later date.
Donations in memory of Wendell may be made to a charity of choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
