It is with deep sadness that we, the family announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Annie Mae Poirier, who passed away peacefully at the Cove Guest Home on Monday, April 4, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Whitney Pier, Annie was a daughter of the late William and Jemania (Langille) Anderson.

Annie was a member of the Salvation Army and faithful servant of Jesus Christ.

Annie is survived by her children, Bill, Yvonne, Beverly (David), Robert (Pansy); grandchildren, Dave (Joan), Kevin (Glenice), Kenny (Mary), Linda (Dan), Glenn (Rose), Kendra (Eddie), Kerrianne, Justin and Andrew (Natalie); 17 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Annie was predeceased by her husband, Charles Poirier, sisters, Elsie, Myrtle, Sadie, Madeline, Dolly, Lena and Minnie, and a brother, Bill.

Visitation for the late Annie Mae Poirier will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home, Whitney Pier, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Saturday, April 23, 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate Annie’s life will be held Sunday, April 24 at 3 p.m. at Pier Community Funeral Home, All Faith Chapel with Kevin Head officiating. Refreshments will follow in the reception area. Interment will take place in Eastmount Cemetery, Whitney Pier.

No flowers by request, donations in Annie’s memory may be made to The Salvation Army Missionary Fund.
