We sadly announce the passing of Francine H. Peters which occurred at the Foyer Pere Fiset in Cheticamp, on February 13th, 2011. Francine (Iny) emigrated from Holland in 1957 with her husband Joseph and five boys. They settled on a farm in South West Margaree in 1959 where she had one more son.
Over the course of her working life, she managed the Gael Co-op in South West Margaree, sold Watkins, Fuller Brush and Avon products; made and sold cheese, delivered mail, drove a school bus and in recent years was receptionist at Dr. Ben Boucher’s office in Margaree. She loved playing games, especially bridge, 45s and Scrabble. Iny had many friends and left an impression on everyone she met with her humour and wit.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, 1913-1977; infant son David, her father Theodore (Dirk) Koster (1890-1974) and her mother Ann (Stoof) Koster (1892-1933).
Iny is survived by her beloved sons Michael (Siena), Theodore (Verna), Ronald, Alphonse (Janis), Bobby(Anne), Donnie (Carol Ann); by her grandchildren, David, Derek,Christena, Teddy, Hamlet, Suzie,Sara, Michael, Morgan, Nicholas, Marcus, Mariann, Stephen, Seph, Meghan (Zack Benoit), Emma, Tim, Willem, Alexander and her great grandchildren Fionn and Otis Benoit.
Visitation will take place at the farm of Bobby and Anne Peters on 325 Coady Road in South West Margaree on Tuesday, February 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. Burial service for family only will take place at a later date.
Donations in Iny’s memory may be made to the World Wildlife Fund or to Foyer Pere Fiset.
She was a member of Sunset Co-op.
