It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Raymond Williams, 63, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Nov. 8, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 31, 1947 in Pt. Edward, N.S., he was the son of the late Charles and Doreen (Strickland) Williams.
In his earlier days, Ray was a truck driver and then worked for Sullivan’s Environmental Services. He was an avid gardener and landscaper. He was an outdoorsman when it came to fishing. Ray enjoyed his days taking care of the home, nourishing his wife and doing for others. He will always be remembered as being a very hard worker.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Theresa ‘Little Woman Tessy’; daughter, Raylene; stepdaughters, Evelyn (Tim), Marilyn (Clyde, predeceased), Susan (Donald, Best Buddy) and Kathy (Vince); stepsons, John (Darlene), Wally (Earlene) and Colby (Denise); sisters, Louise (Gary) Williams, Marie (Garry) Mortimer, Marion (Angus) MacAskill, Kaye (Gerard) Currie and Linda (Jim) Collins; brothers, Harold (Barb), Joe (Rose), Roland (Effie), Charles (Ruthanne) and Lawrence; as well as three grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his sisters, Shirley Henze and Barbara Birch, and a brother, Norman.
There will be no visitation for the late Raymond Williams. Funeral service to celebrate Raymond’s life will be held Friday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church with Rev. Stephen Mills officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Donations in Raymond’s memory may be made to Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton or charity of one’s choice.
