Sept. 29, 1920 – Jun. 25, 2010, Sydney

I chose today, a beautiful, sunny day in June, with a Full Moon on the rise to take my stroll to Heaven.

I’ve lived to lose a good husband and father, but gained a best friend. Raised eight sons and one daughter to the best of my ability and had to endure saying goodbye to one son, before his time. I have grandchildren, and great grandchildren; there was always a young one to spoil.

My love for animals kept me busy feeding any stray that walked across my doorstep.
As per my request, there will be no visitation; cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. I am going home now; the home where my Heart is.

I am survived by seven sons, Ken (Dorothy), Ron (Dolores), Louis, Jim (Sylvia), John (Shirley), Kevin (Brenda), Glen and one daughter, Kim (Edward) Ivany. Helen is also survived by a brother, Joe O’Dea; sister, Aggie (O’Dea) Burke, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and my best friend forever, Myles.

Predeceased by husband, Reginald Assoun; a son, David; Brothers, Tom, John ‘Jeep’ and Ron; sister, Theresa and parents, Jack and Mary O’Dea.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of the Pier Community Funeral Home.

Send an online condolence.
