The family of Gertrude Morrison regretfully announces her passing Wed. Feb. 10 at Northwood Manor, Halifax, N.S.

Born in Battle Harbor, Labrador, she was the daughter of the late Noah and Cornelia Rumbolt.

At an early age she and her family moved to Donkin where she met and married her husband, Angus on Oct.18, 1940. They settled in Glace Bay to raise their family.

She is survived by her daughters, Shirley McIntosh (Rege), Ben Eoin and Wendy Muise, Dartmouth; her cherished grandchildren, Dean McIntosh (Veronica), Robyn Whittier (Robby), Halifax, Tyler and Samantha Muise, Dartmouth and her only great grandchild, Conrad Morrison Whittier. She is also survived by numerous in-laws.

She was predeceased by her husband, Angus, Oct. 2006 and a brother, Issac, Nov. 1957.

For several years Gertrude worked at the old Glace Bay General Hospital as a sitter. She thoroughly enjoyed a good game of 45’s and was involved in several ladies social clubs, throughout the years.

A woman of strong character and determination, her family was extremely important to her.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home. A graveside service and interment will be announced for a future date.
