We, the family of Clyde Nelson Head regretfully announce his passing on October 12, 2009 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care.

Born in Whitney Pier, he was the son of the late Adam and Louisa (Rolfe) Head.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Yvonne (Poirier) Head; daughter, Linda (Dan MacPherson); son, Kevin (Glenice); seven grandchildren, Lisa, Laurie (Matthew), Stephen (Cheryl), Mike, Andrea (Shaun), Denise (Doug) and Michael along with two great grandchildren, Joshua and Mackenzie.
Also surviving are four sisters, Florence, Nancy (George), Mary and Greta; six brothers, Walter (Gladys), Bill (Tina), Rolf, Earl, Carl and Melvin (Doris); mother in-law, Annie Poirier, sister in-law, Bev (Dave) and brother in-laws, Bill and Robert (Pansy).

Clyde was predeceased by his sister, Lillian; sister in-laws, Louise and Peggy and four siblings in infancy, Nell, Adam, John and Cyril.

Clyde was a faithful member of The Salvation Army but more importantly he was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and has now been promoted to Glory.

Visitation for the late Clyde Head will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home, Whitney Pier, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Friday, Oct.16, from 2–4 p.m. and 7-9 pm. A celebration of Clyde’s life will be held in the funeral home in the All Faith Chapel on Sunday, Oct.18 at 3 p.m. with Major Dan Roode officiating. Interment will take place in Eastmount Cemetery, Whitney Pier. Reception will take place in the funeral home.

Donations in Clyde’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of the Pier Community Funeral Home.
