71, Whitney Pier

It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the passing of Teddy Winter,
Thursday, July 24, 2008, at his home in Whitney Pier.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, June 5, 1937, Teddy was the son of the late Charles E. and Mary L. (McGoey) Winter.

Teddy will be fondly remembered by his friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry and Showmen’s League which he was apart of for over 50 years.
 
During his earlier years he was in the Air Force, stationed in Petawawa, Ontario and Beaverbank, Nova Scotia.  Teddy was an avid poker player and always had a good joke to share with others. For those who knew Teddy, he will be remembered for his very generous and thoughtful ways. Overall, Teddy will be looked upon as being Genuine.

Surviving is his loving partner, Noel Daley; six daughters, Darlene, Donna, Shirley, Tracey,
Tammy and Rhonda; seven sons, Ronnie, Gary, Brian, Jimmy, David, Phillip and Michael. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and his beloved dog, Leon.

Besides his parents, Teddy was predeceased by his wife, Gloria Jean Winter, after 25 years of marriage.

Visitation for the late Charles (Teddy) Edward Winter will take place on Monday, July 28 at the Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral service to celebrate Teddy’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 29 at 11 a.m. at Pier Community Funeral Home in the All Faith Chapel, with Major Dan Roode officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home reception area and everyone is welcomed.  Interment will take place at Oakridge Memorial Cemetery, Upper Sackville at a later date.

Family flowers only. Donations in Teddy’s memory may be made to charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
