The family of Wayne Mollons regret to announce his passing on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born on September 25, 1966, in Sydney, Wayne was the son of Clyde and the late Gertie Mollons.

Wayne had many hobbies including golf, playing darts, Eagles games and beach days with the grandchildren. He loved being with his granddaughter, Summer-Lynn, who was his princess and the light of his life.

Besides his father, Wayne is survived by his partner, Myrna Marsman; stepdaughter, Ashley Strickland; stepson, Michael Strickland; daughter, Melinda Lancaster (Simon); brothers, Clyde (Joanne), Clarence and grandchildren, Carsen, Jaxen, Dominic, Summer-Lynn, Sophie and Amelia.

Besides his mother, Wayne was predeceased by his twin sisters, Diane and Debbie.

Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Wayne Mollons will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Thursday, June 6, 2024. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 6 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Rev. Beth Hazelhurst officiating. Private family interment will take place in Forest Havens Memorial Gardens, Sydney, at a later date.

Donations in memory of Wayne may be made to Regional Hospital Foundation.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
