The family of Marilyn Boutilier, regret to announce her passing on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Glace Bay Hospital, Glace Bay.

Born on August 20, 1950, in Sydney, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Leonard and Rebecca Manning.

Marilyn loved to knit, do crossword puzzles and make dolls. She loved to cook, bake and collecting things, especially clothes was her hobby.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Melodie (Ambrose), Ronald (Marija), and Darcy (Cindy); brothers, Raymond (Teresa), Kenneth (Francis), and her baby sister, Judy (Gord); grandchildren, Charlaine, Melodie, Jamie, Tristen, Emma, Liam, Brooklyn, and Bridget; special friends, Kenny Butts, Debbie MacKinnon and Judy Campbell; as well as a large circle of friends.

Besides her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Boutilier; sisters, Gladys (Phillip), and Shirley (Linda); brothers, Albert (Debbie), and John (Gladys); in-laws, James Taylor, Mary Jane Taylor, Bob Lessley, and special niece, Deanna Manning.

Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Marilyn Boutilier will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Lt. Dion Durdle officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney, at a later date.

Donations in memory of Marilyn may be made to The Salvation Army.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
