Baddeck
We announce the peaceful passing of our mom and fondly known as Nan to everyone, on March 13, 2024, age 76, surrounded by her family to join the love of her life, James Archibald Harvie. She was the daughter of the late Duncan and Elizabeth (MacLellan) Beaton.
Mom/Nan was known for her love of family and strong work ethic, which she instilled in all the generations she raised, both biologically and surrogate mom to her special niece and nephews. Through her illness she led her family with peace and strength. She was a consummate caretaker to all those in need. Through her passing she had great faith on her journey to be with her husband and family who predeceased her. She has always proved everyone wrong and beat the odds.
Mom/Nan is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Harvie; grandson, Shayne (Angela) Harvie; great-granddaughter, Mia; granddaughter, Ally (Connor) MacEachern; son, Rodney (Jill); grandchildren, Willie Archie, Sammy, Ellie; son, Michael and grandson, Jacob (Emily); great-granddaughter, Oaklee; niece, Stephanie (Shane) MacNeil; honorary grandson, Drew; nephews, Keith (Courtney) Beaton and Leonard (Brandi) Beaton; grandnephews, Garrison and Ewan; step-children, Jackie (Angelina) Harvie, Kathy (Mike) Samson, Susan and their children and grandchildren; brother, Robert Beaton and family.
Predeceased by her husband; parents; brothers, Jimmy and Donald; sister, Anne Marie; sisters-in-law, Alice and Barb Beaton; child in Infancy, and grandson, Jake Harvie.
We want Mom/Nan to be remembered for her love of storytelling, a good cup of tea and toast and watching Coronation Street. She was always helping people in need and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
There will be no visitation or service at this time.
Donations in memory of Diana may be made to the Hospice Society of Victoria County.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

Diana will be thoroughly missed, she was a hard working and dedicated lady. The SIevers family sends our sincere condolences of her passing. We will always remember her, love you Diana.
I knew her as Diane mostly at Gisele’s as a waitress and a friend and at Wong’s. She was one of the best hardest workers and honest and always at every hockey game cheering her sons. She was well respected as her integrity values and work ethic. Everyone in Baddeck and around would love give their condolences if allowed in person. The Beaton and Harvie’s have done so much for the Baddeck Community for years. You will be missed Diane, my condolences.
It is with a very heavy heart that I received the news about the passing of a very dear friend. Our friendship extended to friends and working colleagues for over 35 years. There was no one like Diana always with a tale to tell, laugh, or trying to solve problems
Dependable, hard working and reliable at all times. The best friend one could have and I was honoured to be in that circle. I have missed you and always will.
Rest in peace that you have so much earned. You will never be forgotten.

Brien and I extend my our deepest sympathies to the Beaton and Harvie families. Mrs. Harvie (I could never could call her Diana, it was a private joke between us) was an amazing woman. She was the bedrock of her family. She was a special friend to the Sievers, she was part of our family. We hope that those who loved and cared for her can pay their respects at a later time.
