Whitney Pier

It is with broken hearts and deep sorrow that we, the family announce the passing of our sister, Rhodina Frances Hawco, on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at the Cape Breton Hospice surrounded by family, after a short illness.

Born on November 27, 1951, in Sydney, Rhodina was the daughter of Margaret Hawco and the late Ron Hawco.

Besides her mother, Rhodina is survived by her older brother, Leo, Alberta; sisters, Kathleen (Fred), Margie (late Austin Snow) and Elizabeth (late Peter Kuramai); brothers, Patrick, Halifax, Ronnie (Eleanor), Sydney and Kevin (April), Sydney; stepbrothers, Bill, Fred and stepsisters, Darlene and Donna. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Rhodina was predeceased by her father, Ron and stepfather, Ed.

Rhodina loved Bingo, playing cards, listening to music, especially Irish music, but her happiest times were being next to our mom watching movies.

A special thanks to the staff on the fourth floor of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and a very special thanks to Dr. D’Intino and Jean, staff at Cape Breton Hospice in Membertou.
