Sydney

Sadly, our dear mother, Pierrette MacLellan, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at the Cove Guest Home, Sydney, where she resided for the past seven years.

Born on November 15, 1935, in Montreal, QC, Pierrette was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Marie-Jeanne (Legault) Armand.

Pierrette moved to Sydney in 1940 where her father would open his furrier business. Later, mom would learn his trade and followed with a career as a finisher at Vogue Furriers for 25 years.

Mom took great pride as home maker and she was an incredible cook, could grow any plant, and created with love, so many knitting and crochet projects. Pierrette adored her grandchildren, she was funny, and had an incredible smile.

Mom is survived by her sons, John (Alana) Pearson, Sydney, Paul (Holly) Pearson, Alberta, Dennis Pearson, Alberta, and Bernie Pearson, British Columbia; her only daughter, Deneyse (Terry) Johnston, Sydney; sisters, Lise MacDougall, Sydney and Violet Hines, Ontario; grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Chandra, Crystal, Mylissa, Trista, Chad, Cory and 14 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Pierrette was predeceased by her husband, Paul MacLellan; in-laws, Ronald and Margaret MacLellan, and brothers-in-law, Lawrence MacDougall and Thomas Hines.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Cove for their care, kindness and respect for our mother. You are second to none.
