Main-a-Dieu

It is with broken hearts that we, the family announce the passing of Carolyn Hall of Main-a-Dieu, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born on December 28, 1952, in Sydney, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Alvin and Theresa (Kennedy) White.

Carolyn was always a very hard worker. In her early years she was employed at both National Seafood and Louisbourg Seafood fish plants. At the age of 44 she joined her husband, Eddie in lobster fishing off Main-a-Dieu. They fished together for the next 21 years.

Mom was fiercely loyal to her family. She was there for all of us unconditionally. She was also an active member of the Immaculate Conception parish CWL for the past 40 years.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 51 years, Edward Hall; children, Todd (Tricia), Jason and Aileen (Lawrence) Lahey; grandchildren, Sacha, Dailyn, Jenna, Kelsey and Jaline; step-grandchildren, Kelsey, Peter and great-grandson, Carter. She is also survived by her closest friends, Marge and Seymour; many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and fur babies, Gizmo, Jack and Turbo.

Besides her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her brother, Philip and her infant brother, Joseph.

Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Carolyn Hall will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, Main-a-Dieu, on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. with the memorial Mass to follow at 11 a.m. with Fr. Ikechukwu Alphonsus Iwuji officiating. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery, Main-a-Dieu.

Donations in memory of Carolyn may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
