It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Ethel Veronica Crawley, age 76, on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with her husband by her side.
Born on March 1, 1946, in Sydney, Ethel was the daughter of the late Jerome and Ethel (Stewart) Gerrior.
Ethel loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Walter Crawley; son, Wally (Kimberley); sister, Theresa, Halifax; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Ethel was predeceased by her sons, Scott (Darlene) and Monty (Karen); eight brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to thank everyone for their condolences and support during this difficult time. A special thank you to the staff of Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their care of Ethel in her time of need.
There will be no visitation for the late Ethel Crawley and a private gathering has taken place for her family.
Donations in memory of Ethel may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember how happy she was to see our family when we went to Nanny Gerrior’ funeral. It was nice to get reacquainted with everyone that day.
