It is with great sadness, we the family announce the passing of Mary MacDow on Monday, August 26, 2019 at MacGillivray Guest Home in Sydney.
Born in Donkin, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Margaret (Griffin) MacLean.
Mary enjoyed a good game of cards, going to the Casino, and spending time with her friends at MacGillivrays, Joan, Elsie and her special friend, Regis.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Connie Armsworthy (Blair), New Waterford, Cindy Hynes, Halifax; son, Daniel MacDow (Jill), Halifax and daughter, Nicole Hynes, Halifax; brother, Hughie; sisters, Agnes, Florence (Jack Webb) Rose; brother-in-law, Ken Webb; many nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Jaclyn, Ryan, Jimdan, Kerrianne, Matty, Shane and Breanne and six great-grandchildren who will all miss her dearly.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by our father, Lester; brothers, John and Sonny; sister, Susan; sisters-in-law, Helen, Margaret and Marion; brothers-in-law, Wallace and Gary; sons-in-law, Jimmy Corbett, J.O. Hynes and her grandson, Harry Corbett.
Cremation has taken place. Respecting Mom’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation.
Special thanks to the staff at MacGillivray Guest Home for the excellent care and compassion shown to our Mom.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

My sisters and I were down to visit Florence and Agnes a few weeks ago. { We are MacLean cousins from Antigonish]Mary was in Hospital at that time so regretfully we didn’t see her.
,Jack has kept us informed of her declining health and subsequent death.
May she rest in peace.
