Albert Bridge

It is with sad hearts that we, the family of Geri Millar (nee Sissy Mosher), age 78, announce her passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Thursday, June 20, 2019 with her loving husband, Dan by her side.

It is hard to say goodbye. We wish that so much of her life had not been lost to her illness, that things could of have been different for her, and for us. While we know that she is at peace with the Lord and that her struggles are at the end, there is pain and sadness. But even though she is gone, Geri has left the legacy of her love and perseverance. The ways she touched our lives will remain, and I ask you to keep those memories alive by sharing them with us and with one another.

Born in Louisbourg, Cape Breton, Geri was the daughter of the late Gerald and Christine Mosher. She spent many years of her life in Ontario, retiring in Cape Breton. Geri worked in accounting and with her husband Dan in their business. Her family and role as mother and grandmother were the most important things to her and where she drew much joy.

Geri is survived by her husband, Dan Millar; son, Gary (Christine) Little; grandchildren, Amanda Little and Dustin (Emily) Little; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Holly Little; stepson, Dan (Christine) Millar and their children, Andrew, Kaitlin, Chrissy, Michael and Eden.
Besides her parents, Geri was predeceased by her son, Kevin Little; brothers, Roy, Robert, and sister, Eleanor.

Visitation and funeral service to celebrate the life of Geri Millar will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street), Whitney Pier on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 12:30 – 2 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Light refreshments will be served in the reception area following the service. Interment will take place in Willow Grove Cemetery, Louisbourg.

Donations in memory of Geri may be made to the Horizon Achievement Building Fund or Nova Scotia Kidney Foundation.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

Online Condolences

I am sending our condolences and prayers to the family at the loss of Geri. I remember her always smiling. One memory I would like to share is one Christmas at Gary and Christine’s. I remember Dan and Geri laughing and chatting with everyone. I remember Kevin keeping us all dancing. Geri loved people and loved to socialize. Geri had a strong faith throughout her life and shared her faith with others.
