Whitney Pier
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing our mother, Theresa Remona (Farrell) Kehoe of Whitney Pier on Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 24, 1932 in Sydney, Theresa was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (MacDonald) Farrell.
Mom was a cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and loving sister to her siblings.
She is survived by her children, David (Jackie), Barbara Kelly Drover (John), Raymond, all of Sydney, Dan (Michelle), Greenwood, Kerry Lynn Langlois (Claude), Halifax and Randy (Pam), Ontario; grandchildren, Amanda Collins, Malinda and Jonathan (Drover), Noah and Stephanie (Langlois), Logan and Caleigh (Kehoe), Tyler and Jessica (Kehoe), and great-grandchildren, Jarrod, Morgan, Joshua, Zachary and Alexander. Mom is also survived by her sisters, Dolores (Gerald) Putt, Alice Corbett, Patsy Kiley and Donna (Frank) Dziubek; sisters-in-law, Bertha Farrell and Anna Kehoe, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mom was predeceased by our father, Gerald; their infant son, Gerald Jr., and as well as her sisters, Margaret Nordine, Dorothy Foley, Mary Hartigan, Kathleen Dawson, and brothers, Pat, Tom, Raymond and John ‘Buddy’.
Mom was a member of the Memory Lane Singers, a member and Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br 128 Ladies Auxiliary, as well as a member of the Legionnaire Singers. She was an avid bowler and dart player. In her later years, Mom was a member of the Whitney Pier Pensioners Club, where she delighted in spending time with her friends. Mom will be missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Mom’s life for family and friends will take place on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street). Visitation for the late Theresa Remona Kehoe will be held from 12-1:30 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Light refreshments will be shared in the funeral home reception area following the service. Interment will take place at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
Many thanks to the doctors, and nursing staffs in the emergency department, 4A, CCU and the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
