Whitney Pier
It is with profound sadness that we, the family, regret to announce the sudden passing of our son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Terrance Milward ‘Terry’ Campbell at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
Born on October 11, 1986, Terry was son to Michael Dennis ‘Doc’ Tobin and Kimberely Leanna Campbell and stepson to the late, Dave McCormick ‘Da’.
Born and raised in Whitney Pier, Terry was one of The Pier Boys, forming several lasting bonds and friendships during his years at Whitney Pier Memorial.
During his younger years, Terry spent many days hanging on the hill with his siblings, cousins and friends, driving dirtbikes, venturing to different lakes and ponds with his fishing rods, chasing girls, making people laugh, and creating memories. He had comedic timing like no other, and if you ever found yourself in his presence, laughter was a guarantee. He had the warmest smile, the most contagious laugh, and the ability to make anyone feel comfortable.
During his later years Terry attended The New Dawn Welding school, loving the experience he decided to pursue a career in the field. He moved to Alberta and worked for several years making many new friends along the way and reuniting with some old ones. Terry was well-known and made an impact on a lot of people over the years which can be seen in all the stories being shared about him. His name carried fondness and respect among those who spoke of him. He lived authentically as himself. Terry had a welcoming aura with unmatched charisma; which made it easy for him to make friends just about anywhere with just about anyone. He was a champion for his friends, cheering them on in their endeavors and loved seeing them succeed.
Running into Terry for many was often a spontaneous event, but every time you see him it was as if no time had passed and no love was lost. To know Terry was to love him and he will be deeply missed by those whom he leaves behind.
Terry is survived by his mother, Kimberely ‘Kim’ Campbell; father, Michael Dennis ‘Doc’ Tobin; sons, Tyrell, Carter, Rylan, Avery, Chayse, and Kail; granddaughter, Emma; brothers, Chris (Tanya), Adam (Christa), Michael, and Joey (Chelsea); sisters, Brandi (Jake), and Magenta; uncles, Wally, (Tandea), Blair, James, Paddy and Howard; aunts, Colleen, Valerie, Beverely, Kelly, Clara, Tanya, and Denise; nephews, Gabriel, Austin, Tyler, Owen, Miles, Nathan, Sawyer, Calem, Jesse, Keaton, and Elliot; nieces, Kennedy, Tatum, Brianna, and Scarlet; close friend/sister, Kelsey Fraser; godson, Elliot Fraser, as well as many cousins and friends.
Besides his stepfather, Dave, Terry is also predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Terrance Tobin and Helen Campbell, and maternal grandparents, Milward ‘Bricky’ and Shirley Campbell.
Terry’s family would like to extend thanks to EHS paramedics as well as the doctors and nurses of The Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their efforts and care, and those who have donated to the GoFundMe as well as sent private donations and the many who have sent their prayers and condolences.
Visitation and Celebration of Life for the late Terry Campbell will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home, Whitney Pier, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
Donations in memory of Terry may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
