It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of Walter Roy Crawley, 80, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with his grandchildren by his side.
Walter was a well mannered, respectful, hard working family man. He worked many years installing windows and doors for Modern Aluminum and then Gillis’s.
Walter was always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a passion for music. He enjoyed old country and western and had a great fondness for Elvis.
In the past few years of his life, Walter spent much of his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Walter was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ethel Veronica (Gerrior) Crawley; three sons, Wally Crawley (Kim), Scott Crawley (Darlene), and Monty Crawley (Karen).
Walter is survived by grandsons, Brandon Crawley (Nicole), Chad Crawley (Jocelyn), Cody Crawley, Colton Crawley and Kyle Gillis; granddaughters, Calista Morrison (Stephen), and Kelsey Crawley (Austin), and great-grandchildren, Gracie, Carter, Gianna, Seth, Kash, and Tatum.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the team at the palliative care unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their care of Walter in his time of need.
There will be no visitation for the late Walter Crawley. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
