It is with profound sadness that, we the family, announce the untimely passing of Maureen Frances Magliaro, age 60, of Whitney Pier after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on May 24, 1965, Maureen was the daughter of the late Nick and Sylvia (Petten) Magliaro.
Maureen was the kindest soul that could ever exist, her whole life revolved around helping others and being the best person, she could be. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and always enjoyed a good dance.
Maureen is survived by her stepmother, Janette Magliaro; loving sister, Anna Magliaro (Tom), who was by her side every step of the way. She is also survived by sisters, Valerie (Robert), and Marie Magliaro Lang; brother, Brad; nephews, Kenny (Brandy), and Nicholas, and special great-nephew, Hadley, who she had such a special bond with; special niece, Bailey; nieces, Sophia, Kate, and Michelle; special godson, Gregory; special cousin, Donna, and lifelong friends, Janice, Deedee, Didi, Cathy, Darcel, Mary, and Sonya.
Besides her parents, Maureen was predeceased by her brother, Nick Magliaro, and sister, Gina Magliaro.
We would like to send out a special thanks to all the staff of Palliative care and hospice. Thank you from all of us for your care of Maureen in her time of need.
Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Maureen Magliaro will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Monday, March 30, 2026. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 12 noon to 1 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
Donations in memory of Maureen may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

My sincerest sympathy to all the Maglario family. Maureen touched many people’s lives in ways she never knew. I can still remember the first time we met at the age of 6 and we have maintained our friendship ever since. I will always cherish our time together, even when we were miles apart. Her love and care for all the residents really shone through as she went above and beyond and treating them all like family. Maureen was a very kind soul and she really enjoyed a good laugh.
