Sydney

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Theresa Kathleen Boudreau after a brief illness at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital at age 69.

Born in Sydney Theresa was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Burke. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Patricia; brother, Joey, and her husband and love of her life for 27 years, Sandy.

Theresa is survived by her sisters, Marlene (John) MacDonald, and Lynn (Walter) Eldridge; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews; stepdaughter, Christa; as well as her son and best friend, Rob.

Mom was an avid baseball and hockey fan and loved to watch any games involving the Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Bruins. She also took great joy in music, movies, crocheting, knitting, doing jigsaw puzzles, and enjoying the summer weather with a glass of rum.

Despite her health issues with COPD and back problems, Theresa always persevered with a smile on her face, and her sense of humor was always on display right up until her passing. With that being said, any donations of Captain Morgan can be made to her son, Rob on her behalf. “Just kidding.” That’s just the kind of sense of humor she had and she would definitely appreciate anyone getting a chuckle from this little tribute to her.

A big part of me is gone, but I can take comfort in knowing she’s at peace with no more pain or suffering. Mom will be dearly missed forever and I’m sure she would want everyone to know how much she appreciates all the well wishes and condolences from everybody.

Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service will be held at a later date.

Donations in memory of Theresa may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
