Howie Centre
It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of Linda Marie MacPhee, at the age of 77 on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
A lifelong resident of Sydney, Linda was known for her quiet strength, generous heart, and deep devotion to those she loved. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald MacPhee, and her beloved partner, Shirley Lesley, with whom she shared many beautiful years and summers spent camping in Whycocomagh, a place that brought her great peace and joy.
Linda was also predeceased by her parents, Nora (Donavan) Campbell and Joseph ‘Bricky’ Campbell; infant daughter, Michelle, and brothers, Brian Campbell and George Campbell.
Linda is lovingly remembered by her children, Kimberley (Greg) Riley, Brad (Michelle) MacArthur, and Brent MacArthur; siblings, Brent (Cathy) Campbell, Michael (Charlene) Campbell, Mary (Nick) Magis, Joey ( Diane) Campbell and Wally (Tandea) Campbell; cherished grandchildren, Brandon, Alicia, Audriana, Jessica, Meaghan, Christopher, Matthew (Katelin), Jillian, Shaylynn, Makayla (Logan), and Kayelyn. Linda was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Nathan, Madyson, Corbin, Myrah, and Jason, as well as many dear nieces and nephews.
Linda had a special love for the simple joys in life. She treasured her weekly games of Rummoli with a wonderful group who welcomed her with open arms and filled her days with friendship and laughter. Linda also held close her visits with Judy Manning, which always brightened her spirit, and never missed the chance to share a good laugh with Ron, whose sense of humor brought her so much joy.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses of the ICU at Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their compassionate care and support during Linda’s final days. To the amazing team of nurses and doctors in the Emergency Room and EHS.
A special thank-you goes to her niece, Shannon, for the love and care she gave so generously. To her niece, Nicole for all the love and laughs you ensured.
Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and quiet resilience. Linda’s warmth, kindness, and thoughtful presence will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Forever in our hearts — may she rest in peace, reunited with those she loved and missed.
