It is with heavy hearts that we, the family announce the sudden passing of William ‘Bill/Chuck’ Keough at home on Monday, July 28, 2025, in Sydney River, at the age of 66.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Joseph Keough and nephew, Casey Wylde.
Bill enjoyed work on the oil rigs early in his career but later became a glazier by trade installing commercial and industrial glass at Stott Aluminum and Island Auto Glass. He made many long-lasting friendships along the way.
Bill is survived by brothers, Brian (Liz) and Tim; uncle, Tommy (Brenda) Wylde; nephews, Kelly (Miada), Adam, Chris (Alex) and Ryan (Chelsea); sister-in-law, Emily; as well as many grand nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Edwardsville.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Steve McDougall and the staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, specially the Cancer Center staff for the care given to Bill in his time of need.
Memorial service to celebrate the life of Bill Keough will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 2 p.m. with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place in New Calvary Cemetery, Whitney Pier.
Donations in memory of Bill may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

It is with much sadness I write this message of condolence. Bill was such a wonderful man to speak to, a great sense of humour, and a kind heart. To Tim and Brian, and all the family, we are very sorry for your loss. We are sorry we can’t be there to see you all in person, but please know our hearts and prayers are with you.
