Anthony ‘Tony’ Milkowski passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Taigh Na Mara in Glace Bay.
Born on January 1, 1942, in Truro, Tony was the son of the late Herbert and Viola (Timmons) MacLean.
Tony was a founder of the Cape Breton Free Wheelin Motorcycle Association and served as president for many years. As a club they donated and worked with the Atlantic Burn Camp, IWK all day music benefit, Toy for Tots Christmas Toy Run, Motorcycle run for local food banks and Memorial Runs for deceased bikers.
Tony worked for ServiceMaster for 18 years. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Tony is survived by longtime friend and travelling companion, Esther Tomko; daughter, Trina MacLean, from western Canada, and best friends, Joe and Elaine Zammit.
Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Tony Milkowski will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Thursday, September 19, 2024. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Rev. Beth Hazelhurst officiating. Interment will take place in Annapolis Royal at a later date.
Donations in memory of Tony may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
