North Sydney

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Philip Harman announce his passing at the Northside General Hospital, North Sydney, Cape Breton, on Sunday, September 8, 2024, with his angels by his side.

Philip Alan Harman, age 74, was born on August 22, 1950, to the late Johnny “Jack” Harman, and Florence Godsmark.

Formerly from Toronto Ontario and residing in North Sydney for the last 5 years, Philip loved to collect antique cars, play piano, skate, walk the beach and collect sea glass and rocks people painted.

Philip is survived by his brothers, Mike Harman and Kieth Spears; sisters, Sharon Harman (Mike), Liz McCaw (Tom), Shelia MacGillivray (Shawn), and Krystal Clarkin (Derek); stepmom, Dorren Pasher (Sterling); nieces and nephews, Sam, Becky, Jessie, Niki, Kaitlyn, Kaleesha, Kyla, Jason, Alex, Jordan, Kyle and Kurtis, as well as his extended Kingdom Hall family and friends.

Besides his parents, Philip was predeceased by brothers, Bobby, Rick (Garth), Doug Carver and David Harman.

A special thanks to staff at North Sydney for their care and his “sweetheart” by his side which is what he called his nurse we learned when visiting.

Memorial service to celebrate the life of Philip Harman will be held at North Sydney Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, 29 Quilty Ave., North Sydney, Cape Breton at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

If so desired donations in memory of Philip may be made to Dementia and Liver foundations.

Rest with Angels, may you ride along this road with grace, as the sun sets, may the last destination soon seem near as you journey through uncharted paths. So may your final ride be easy, and your spirit not be deterred until me we meet again big brother.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
