It is with great sadness we, the family announce the passing of Milton Hardy, age 72, of Louisbourg. Milton passed away on Thursday, September,5 2024 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Sydney, Milton was the son of the late Herman (formerly of Ingonish) and Isabel (Kennedy) Hardy of Louisbourg.
Milton was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 62 in Louisbourg and a former employee of the National Sea Products Ltd. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Milton is survived by his brothers, Wayne (Theresa) of Sydney, John (Lucy) of Louisbourg, Glenn (Marilyn) of PEI, Tommy of Sydney, and his two children, MJ and Rena.
Besides his parents, Milton was predeceased by his sister, Colleen.
The family would like to thank the home care workers of the City Homemakers Service, the staff at palliative care unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Dr. Morash and the residents at the apartment complex where Milton lived for the last number of years, for the care given to him during his time of need.
There will be no visitation for the late Milton Hardy. Due to weather, graveside service will be held today on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the Stella Maris Church, Louisbourg, with Fr. Ikechukwu Alphonsus Iwuji officiating. Milton will be laid the rest in the parish cemetery.
Donations in memory of Milton may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
