Carol Anne (Giffin) Dobbs passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Carol Anne was a member of the United Baptist Church Choir and on the Social, and Ways and Means Committees. She was a dedicated volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society, Sydney office, CBRH Cancer Clinic, and Cancer Connection. Carol Anne was a facilitator with the Living with Cancer Support Group, Cancer NS and The Friends of MacGillivray Guest Home.
Carol Anne was predeceased by her parents, the late Gordon and Hattie (Myers) Giffin, and companion and best friend, Roy Lewis.
Carol Anne leaves behind the loves of her life, daughters, Sherri Lynn (Doug) Brown, Karen Marie (Rob) Lothier, and grandchildren, Krystal and Christopher.
Visitation and Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Carol Anne Dobbs will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Monday, September 16, 2024. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. with the Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Jane Keller LLWL officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
Carol Anne’s family would like to send their heartfelt thanks to all the nurses and doctors at the CBRH 3B, 4B and ICU, especially her favorite nurses who brought joy to her days, Melissa, Kit, Chelsea and Charnell.
Donations in memory of Carol Anne may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

Carol was an amazing woman,and lovely lady. And she was down to earth and yet classy at the same time. She had the best penmanship I’ve ever seen! I loved her dearly and my family and I will miss her. God’s richest blessing and peace be with all the family.

I was very sorry to learn of Carol’s passing.
Carol and I were great friends during our high school years.
Our lives took different directions after high school but we had a great time of reconnecting in 2013 at our high school reunion.
Carol certainly lived a full life and served her community with passion.

Our deepest condolences to our daughter in law Krystal and her whole family for this loss of her Nan. We never met her Nan, but we felt like we knew her in listening to Krystal talk so lovingly about her. We could see that Krystal and her Nan had a very special relationship and we know that this wonderful woman will be so sadly missed by her granddaughter and her whole family.

I first knew Carol Anne as a classmate at the Academy. She was pleasant, helpful and very easy to like. Throughout her life she remained the same. We’ll all miss Carol Anne! My deepest sympathy to her loved ones and friends.
