It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Jason McVety, age 44, after a brief illness, on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born on July 7, 1976 in Cobourg, Ontario, Jason was the son of Debra and Wayne McVety.

Jason started his career as a manager at McDonalds Restaurant and then EDS where he trained many accounts developing lasting friendships. Jason then advanced to a Global Training Specialist with DXC/HP traveling the world enjoying the next adventure and job that was around the corner.

Besides his parents, Jason is survived by his soulmate and best friend, Rose King; brothers, Michael, AB and Trevor, ON and sister, Dana, Halifax. Jason had a special love for his nephews and nieces, Cameron, Kali, Catelyn, Haley and John Thomas. He is also survived by his grandparents, Jay and Muriel McVety. Jason was loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins from Ontario and Halifax.

Jason was predeceased by his grandparents, Earl and Anne Wood and he is now with his fur babies, Makki and Ray Ray, whom he loved dearly.

At the request of Jason, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service. In memory of Jason raise a toast at the next supper.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jason may be made to the SPCA or Charity of one’s choice.

A special thank you goes out to the Staff of 4B and “The Angels” in ICU for your care of Jason in his time of need.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
