We, the family of Jeffrey Allan Legge are heartbroken to announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 15, 1970, Jeff was the son to Charmaine James (Fred) and the late David Legge. He was raised in Glace Bay and Sydney.

Besides his mother and step-father, Jeff is survived by the love of his life, Kim and their children, Derrick and Shelby; siblings, Lynn James (Mike), Kelly James, and Carolyn Arsenault (Jeff); included in the mourners are many uncles and aunts with special mention going to Joe and Derek Legge, who shared an especially close relationship with Jeff. There are also many cousins and in-laws whom he cherished.

Besides his father, Jeff was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Sheila Legge, maternal grandparents, Charles and Margaret Ellis and cousin, Denise Legge.

Educated in Glace Bay and Sydney, Jeff went on to successfully complete an Automotive Service Technician’s course at UCCB and remained passionate about cars for the many years to come. This interest in cars led him to participate in many car audio competitions with his friends and son.

Jeff loved all animals, but especially dogs, Bull Terriers in particular. Angel, Demi, Marley, Blaze and Ruby held a special place in his heart, and he never stopped missing them.

Jeff considered himself extremely fortunate to have worked at various places including the Pier Community Funeral Home. He enjoyed his co-workers, who were so accommodating and a pleasure to work with.

Memorial service to celebrate the life of Jeff Legge will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Covid protocols will be practiced at the service.

Donations in memory of Jeff may be made to a SPCA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

Dear Charmaine-Kim- family- Jeffrey was one of the kindest souls I knew. He always had a smile and a story to tell me . Usually about his Dogs. Kim he loved you and the children so much and always lit up when talking about you. Charmaine he always let me know how you were and loved to talk about you. It would go months before I saw Jeff but when I did he always had a hug and smile for me. God be with you all at this time.
