Big Pond

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Linda Marie Hartigan, Big Pond, in palliative care at Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Thursday, July 1, 2021.

Linda was the daughter of the late Peggy (Delaney) and Lawrence (Lar) Hartigan.

Besides her parents, Linda was predeceased by brothers, Lawrence (Karen), Allan (Helen), John (Judy), Dennis, Tony and sister-in-law, Emily Hartigan.

Linda is survived by brother, Carl Hartigan (Betty); sisters, Colleen Hartigan and Sally Christie and stepdaughters, Mindy, Susie and Lisa. Linda was like a mom to special nieces, Dawn, Toni, Melissa and Ashley, who she loved with all her heart. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, especially Kaylee.

Linda had a rich life, with her humour, her kindness and her compassion. She loved to laugh and she could enjoy a good joke and give back better than she got!

Linda joined the Canadian Armed Forces and proudly served her country for 17 years, including a tour in the Golan Heights, Egypt as a NATO Peacekeeper. Her second career was as an LPN which she was well suited for.

A special thank you to the staff in ICU and the Palliative Care Unit for their kindness to Linda in her time of need.
