It is with heavy hearts and much sadness that we, the family regret to announce the passing of Mary ‘Mare’ Croxen at home in Glace Bay on Thursday, June 3, 2021.
Born on March 25, 1948, in Glace Bay, Mary was the daughter of the late George Sr. (Stepfather) and Elsa Mae (Brewster) Farmer.
Mary was the type of person who kept to herself but loved music and would always be caught dancing in her kitchen to Michael Bolton or Aaron Neville. She was always the life of any party.
Mary is survived by her children, Darlene (Mike), Joyce (Paul), Beatrice, Robert (Charmaine), Vernon, Mary Cricentia (Atom) and Roderick; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Jake, David and Raymond; sisters, Shirley, Rita and Joyce; as well as many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is Mary’s best friend, her fur baby, RJ and special friend, Eugene MacDonald.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother, George Farmer.
As per Mary’s wishes cremation has taken place. Due to Covid restrictions, there will be a graveside service for the late Mary Croxen at a later date.
Donations in memory of Mary may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” Here work down here on earth is done and now she may rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior. She will be missed but not forgotten. May she rest in peace. Look to the Lord for comfort for He is the Comforter and He will bring you peace. When prayers goes up; blessings comes down.
