It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, Rose Marie Burke, age 76, on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born in Baleine, Rose Marie was the daughter of the late Alex and Mary Rose (Lahey) Burke.

Rose Marie loved spending time with her grandchildren, enjoyed Sunday dinners with all the family and drives with her husband. She was a very kind women who was very giving to everyone around her.

Marie is survived by her husband, Brian Wadden Sr.; children, Denise (Andy) Stewart, Inverness and Brian Jr. (Loreen) Wadden, Sydney; precious grandchildren, Anna, Laura, Isaac and Myla; brother, Billy (Diane) Burke, Baleine, sister, Sadie (Glen) MacKinnon, St Catherines, ON; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Private Family Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Rose Marie Burke will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, Whitney Pier in the All Faith Chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment will take place in Stella Maris Parish Cemetery, Louisbourg. ‘Covid Protocols’ will be practiced at the service and for those unable to attend, ‘Live Streaming’ will be available on our website.

Donations in memory of Rose Marie may be made to The Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
