It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Marilyn Ann Stevens on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney.
Born July 20, 1964 in Sydney, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Patrick and Theresa (Stanovie) Stevens.
Marilyn was outgoing and loved to talk and joke with family and friends and she had a love for rap music. In her early years she was employed by Canadian Tire and EDS call centre. She will be dearly missed by her family and Cliff.
Marilyn is survived by her partner, Cliff Weatherbee; sister, Diane (Ken) Saunders; brothers, Kevin and Martin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Patrick Jr.; son, Kevin and nieces, Melissa and Natasha.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service to celebrate the life of Marilyn Stevens will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
We would like to express a sincere thank you to the medical staff that cared for Marilyn at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in her time of need.
Donations in memory of Marilyn can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care & direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
