With heavy hearts, we regret to announce the passing Kevin Clarence Keller Sr., age 71, on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his family.
 
Born on September 21, 1946 in Sydney, Kevin was the son of the late Clarence and Ada (Coombs) Keller.
 
Kevin worked as an oil heat system technician. He loved spending time with all his grandchildren and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a founding member and volunteer of the South Bar Volunteer Fire Department. Kevin will be remembered by his family and friends for being a hard worker and helpful towards family.
 
Kevin is survived by his children, Nadine Keller-Wadden (Jeff), Victoria Mines, Kevin Jr. (Heather), Sydney; grandchildren, Larissa, Molly, Chase, Noah and Ivey; sisters, Marilyn (Terry) Vango, Toronto and Debbie McDonald, Glace Bay; the mother of his children, Lydia Keller; as well as several nieces and nephews.
 
Besides his parents, Kevin was predeceased by sisters, Paulette and Sharon.
 
Memorial service to celebrate the life of the late Kevin Clarence Keller Sr. will be held in Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Thursday, March 22, 2018. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10 – 11 a.m. with the service to follow at 11 a.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place in Hardwood Hill cemetery at a later date.
 
Donations in memory of Kevin may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
 
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

I am so sorry to hear that Kevin passed. I have very fond memories with him and gramps at the cottage. I especially remember him trying to teach me how to drive bike and a gramps truck when I was young. I was very glad to see a few weeks ago when he was in Halifax. I will miss him.
