It is with great sadness that we, the family of Doris Marie Neville, 71, announce her passing on Thursday, Apr. 28, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Windsor N.S., Doris was the first child of the late Maurice and Doris (Page) Neville.

Doris lived out of province most of her life and later returned to Cape Breton to enjoy her retirement. She was a great lover and creator of art. She also enjoyed travelling and her beloved books. Doris will be missed by all who knew her.   

Doris is survived by her brother, Bryan (Murielle) Neville; sisters, Florence Neville, Barbara (Allan) Chiasson, Laurie (Gary) MacLellan and Marilee (Michael) Bona; nieces and nephews, April, Christine, Rubby, Laura, Sean, Michelle and Eric; great-nieces and great-nephews, Natasha, Samantha, Christopher and Lucas; as well as two great-grandnieces, Hailee and Skylar.  

Memorial service in honour of Doris Neville will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, All Faith Chapel, Whitney Pier, on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Light refreshments will be served in the reception area following the service. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.

Donations in memory of Doris may be made to charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

So sorry for your loss. I meet Doris at the Northside Guest home , she shared a room with my Mom -Elaine Mac Donald . Many days we would talk over a tea and treat I would bring in for both of them . She will be a great loss to my Mom and also to everyone who knew Doris. A wonderful lady.
