It is with sadness we announce the passing of Tammy Lynn MacNeil on Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at the QE II Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, with her family by her side.

Born in Sydney, Tammy was the daughter of Deanna (Don) Allen and Edgar ‘Eddie’ MacNeil.
Tammy lived a simple life. She was raised in Whitney Pier, Cape Breton and was a member of Whitney Pier 587 Air Cadets and graduated from Holy Angels. Tammy was a lover of dancing, camping and fishing. She will be remembered by family and friends for being independent and for helping those in need.

Besides her parents, Tammy is survived by her two sons, Wayne and Aaron Devine; sisters, Danielle and Veronica Allen; brothers, Norman, Keith and William Allen; stepbrothers, David and Johnathan Strickland; companion, Tristan Fournier; special aunt, Brenda ‘Buddy’; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tammy was predeceased by her son, James Devine and grandparents, Reg and Elsie MacNeil and Norman and Mary Bett.

Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Tammy Lynn MacNeil will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with service to follow at 1 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Deacon John Scott officiating. Light refreshments will be served in the reception area following the service. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.

Donations in memory of Tammy may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
