It is with sadness we announce the passing of Mary Louise Craig, 79, on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Sydney, Mary Louise was the daughter of the late John and Meltha (Neville) McCormick.

Mary Louise was a member of Holy Redeemer parish. She was involved with the Whitney Pier Historical Society and Pierscape. She loved to write poetry. Mary Louise will be remembered by family and friends for being very caring and loving.

Mary Louise is survived by her daughter, Carmel and three grandchildren; sisters, Sheila Kerr and Norma (Martin) Evans; sister in-law, Betty McCormick and two nephews, Colin and Jamie.
Besides her parents, Mary Louise was predeceased by her brother, Joseph.

Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Mary Louise Craig will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10-11 a.m. with service to follow at 11 a.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Light refreshments will be served in the reception area following the service. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.

Donations in memory of Mary Louise may be made to the Holy Redeemer Building Fund.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

My deepest sympathies to all Mary Lou's family and friends. I hadn't seen her in years but remember her like it was yesterday. A truly lovely lady! My mom, Nancy Campbell and sister, Valerie Campbell were also very saddened to hear the news of her passing.
