Margaree Centre

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of our mother , grandmother and sister, Viola Hart, 87, on Saturday, April 18 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Viola was a member of Wilson United Church, a lifelong member of the Wilson UCW, and the Margaree Valley Seniors Citizens Club. In the past she was a local vendor for provincial licenses within her community. She spent many hours crocheting, knitting and quilting and loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, for they were her pride and joy. Viola will be remembered by family and friends for being independent, loving and caring.

Viola is survived by her daughters, Donna Chisholm, Baddeck; Beryl (Derrick) Heatley, MacLellan’s Brook, Pictou Co.; and three grandchildren, Kara Chisholm and Jennifer and Colin Heatley.  She is also survived by her brother, Erving (Hilda) MacDermid; sister, Bernice Hart, Truro, along with her special nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Viola was predeceased by her husband, Edwin; an infant son and a sister, Ellamae.

A special thank you to the home care staff who checked in and assisted Mom, for whom she was always grateful.  Also a special thanks to the Paramedics, first responders, the doctors and staff of Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital and the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the wonderful care mom received in her last hours.
