Cecil Ernest Forristal passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. He was the last surviving family member of his immediate family.
Born on June 27, 1931 in Sydney, Cecil was the son of the late Leonard and Beatrice (Campbell) Forristal.
Cecil lived a very simple life in Whitney Pier. He could always be seen by himself walking the streets of Whitney Pier. For those who knew Cecil, he was kind, gentle and polite.
In his earlier days, Cecil worked for Sydney Steel as a lab tech and later taught piano and guitar at McKnight’s Music on Charlotte Street.
Besides his parents, Cecil was predeceased by his sister, Evelyn Forristal.
At Cecil’s request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place with a private burial at a later date.
Donations in memory of Cecil may be made to the Whitney Boys and Girls Club or to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
