It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kevin MacLeod on Friday, June 28, 2013, in Edmonton, Alberta.

Born in North Sydney, Kevin was the son of Joe and Phyllis MacLeod, Balls Creek.

Kevin was a member of Carpenters Local 1325, Edmonton, Alberta. For the past 12 years, he worked as a scaffolder in Fort McMurray.

Kevin was a loving son, father, brother and uncle. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Besides his parents, Kevin is survived by his daughter, Cheyenne, Glace Bay; son, Evan, Edmonton; sister, Joanne (Clyde) Mollons, Sydney; nieces, Kaylee and Madison; and nephew, Kayden. Also surviving is his grandmother, Martha Clarke, North Sydney; aunts, Katherine (Roy) Kerr, Goose Cove, and Linda MacLeod, North Sydney; uncle, John MacEachern, Point Edward and his close friends, Jolene Lovell, Sydney Mines, Marcie Favel and Bryan Gouchee, both in Alberta.

There will be no visitation for cremation has taken place. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Kevin MacLeod will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 3 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery, North River with Amanda Wickenheiser officiating.

Donations in memory of Kevin may be made to charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

I knew Kevin in his younger years. He was so full of life, and funny, and strong.  This is very sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to the family, especially his sister Joanne.  I hoped to see him again somewhere down the road. Cheers old fellow.  Rest In Peace!!!!
