A memorial service was held for the late Zane Weatherbee, 49, who passed away in New Brunswick on June 25, 2015.
Zane was born on Aug. 23, 1965 in Sydney.
Zane is survived by his loving mother, Diana, New Waterford and predeceased by his brother, Mark.
Interment has taken placed under the direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
I actually spent alot of time with Zane. It was certainly a troubled individual situation but he was a gentle soul regardless of what anyone would say a giant teddy bear in my opinion. Whenever I interacted with him it was always very kind cordial and respectful. He had a tendency to cause himself a lot of pain and in that I would try to help him feel like he could speak to somebody if he needed to he never did. I hope he’s peaceful now.
I just now saw this. Was wondering where Zane was. I was Zane’s “Big Sister”. Not related but developed a relationship with him as a kid who was “at risk”. He was a gentle and loving soul, despite what happened to his little cousin. It’s hard to process – both what he did, and that he had to spend his entire life behind bars. I somehow spoke to someone online who had spent time with him at Dorchester. He described him as “a big goofy kid”. That he was. I hope that somehow Zane gets another go at life. He didn’t stand a chance this time around. Thinking of you Zane. “Rest in Peace to Zane’s little cousin. She didn’t deserve to lose her life.”
