Howie Centre
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Dominic Clarke, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Dominic was a devoted husband to his wife, Ellen, and a loving father to Amy (Marci), Lindsey, Lacey, Christina (Ryan), and DJ (Erica). He was a proud and cherished Poppy to his grandchildren, Michael, Tori, Brookelynn, Emma, Averi, Lincoln, Lexi, Lucy, Coady, Matthew, Bailey, Makenzie, Jordan, Connor, Joshua, Ella, and a loving great-grandfather to Damian.
Dominic spent his life on the sea as a hardworking fisherman. It was not just a job to him — it was his passion. The ocean was where Dominic felt most at home, and his dedication, strength, and love for the water defined much of who he was.
Dominic was predeceased by his parents, James and Nora Clarke; brother, Anthony, and sister, Sandy.
Besides his immediate family, Dominic is also survived by his sisters, Lisa (Jimmy), and Helen; brothers, Jim (Kerri), and Gerald (Pam); along with many extended family members and friends.
Dominic will be remembered for his deep love for his family, his strong work ethic, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Thank you to the ICU team at Cape Breton Regional Hospital for caring for Dominic with such compassion and dignity. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Dominic Clarke will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
