Condolences to the Cuddihy family, rest in peace James.
Our deepest condolences on the passing of your brother/ father, James was a great guy. He will be missed by all who have known him over the years. He will now team up with his buddy Danny to make heaven a better place.
Thinking of you, Theresa. Deepest sympathy to you and to all the family.
My condolences
I grew up with James, and we shared a lot of great memories over the years. We even played in a band together once at a family wedding — a rare moment since we were usually in separate groups. I played with Scott Boyd, Billy Moss, and Bobby Seymour, while James played with Joe Pike and Jimmy Cooper. But that one time, we teamed up, and it was something special.
What stands out most, though, is our fierce hockey rivalry. James was a die-hard Blackhawks fan, and I was all about the Habs. We played countless games of ball hockey in the streets, baseball at the playground on warm summer days, and even endless rounds of table hockey — sometimes at my place, sometimes at his.
His family was the first in our neighborhood to get a color TV — a big deal back then. Walter and I were close friends at a very young age, and like many childhood friendships, we argued about just about everything. Some things don’t change lol.
I’ll always carry these memories with me, Jim — the music, the games, the laughter, and even the arguments and you taking me to task for sucking at being a goaltender in ball hockey lol. You were a big part of those early days, and I’m grateful for every one of them.
Rest easy, my friend…..
To the family….. We who grew up in the Pier hanging around the Roberts St gang…. share your loss…. love to all….
