We, the family regret to announce the passing of Theresa Michelle (Hawco) Gale, on Thursday, February 15, 2024, in Membertou, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on March 3, 1949, in Sydney, Terry was a daughter of the late Alexander and Edith (MacDonald) Hawco.
Terry was an honest woman with a saucy sense of humour. She enjoyed her gaming and her bingo, but she especially enjoyed her weekly drives with her daughters, Sharon and Melissa and her little buddy, Ethan.
Terry is survived by her son, Barney Gale (Marylynn); daughter, Sharon McIntyre (Chris); grandchildren, David James (Nattasha), Michael (Stephanie) and Kelsey (Jonathan); great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ava, Jaxton, Rhiella, Chloe, Lucas, Ryder, and Ellie; brothers, Jimmy, Louie (Anita); adopted daughter, Melissa; her favourite fur grandson, Roman; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Terry was predeceased by her husband, Barney Gale; daughter, Tish; brothers, Billy, Bobby, Jake, and sisters, Dawn, Sandra, Karen, and Carmen.
The family would like to especially thank her family doctor, Dr. Myatt and the Palliative care nurses and doctors for their care and compassion during Terry’s time of need.
Visitation and funeral service to celebrate the life of Theresa Gale will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 6 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Fr. Evo Di Pierro officiating. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks, at a later date.
Donations in memory of Terry may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
